    Hello-

New to the Maxisys and new to programming.

I just put a new transmission & transfer case in a 2008 Cadillac STS 4.  Afterwards there was a error on the display "Starting Disabled - Theft Detect".

I hooked up my 908pro with j-box using USB cable.  Under programming there was an option for Theft Deterent but if I tried to access it, it would give me an error message.

After poking around I see there are updates to the ECU so I thought updating it might clear the error.  It did clear the error but now when I try start it the dash goes black except for the little engine light is on.

I scan the car and 5 faults for ECU a couple for TCM.  Ill post them in a bit.  One is no known key or something, I have tried a couple of key re-learn procedures with no luck.  I have keys 1 and 2 here.

    Thanks - Adam

6 codes for ECM, 2 for TCM, 7 codes for Instrument Panel Module, 1 HVAC, 1 Remote Control Door Lock Reciever, 1 Veh Direction Alert Alarm Warn Mod, and 2 Electronic Brake Control Module.

Most of those codes are loss of communication codes.  I can post them if they are useful.

I did not get the issue resolved, although with Autel support they helped me by getting a GM tech on the line (conference call) and he explained it was an issue on the CAN bus somewhere.  One of the modules was not communicating and I needed to find out which one.  Possibly could be the electrical plug on the transmission.

I didn't have time to look through it any further though, we just towed it to Cadillac as we need it fixed ASAP.

I think I flashed it from autel web.  I do not know the difference though... what is tisweb?

Got the car back from Cadillac today.  $207 after taxes to fix it.  They reflashed ECM, TCM and BCM.  All of the errors were due to the TCM having a different VIN than the ECM.
